From Ortho To Cardio

Today was my last day being an intern in the Orthopedic department. Through out the this entire week i have learned so much all about the bones and mucles. Not only i have learn tons of medical theory about it but i've got to practise a few medical procedures as such installing a P.O.P for patient with a broken bone. And i also got the chance to witness a tons of medical procedures that are only been practised by Ortho Surgons. Gosh, being a surgon is for sure is much more COOLER than being a Medical doctor. Being a surgon is like you have the the power to cut and fix people's bones and do amazing surgery on the bones. But being a surgon is not easy, the requirement is soo standard, having an A on Anatomy & Physiology, together with a perfect marks on Bio-Science Medical practised. Gosh, i wish i'am good enough to be a surgon one day but i won't be a Ortho surgon, i would love to be a Cardio Therasic Surgon. A heart surgon is the one that all medical officer dreamed about as a specilty.

Back to my story as an intern in Ortho department. From now, i would like to admit that working in Ortho clinic is so freakin' busy with all the long que patient. The apponintment set up and reviews every single day except for Friday and Sunday. The week days was just crazy cause some time nda g temakan our lunch and sometime ah, paksa overtime just because having to see and examined tons of patient, especially on Monday and Saturday.

Today i was assigned as Dr.Phillip intern, helping him with all the patient appointment and at the same time, he taught me all about acellocities, anginatitis, cellulaties with its treatment, investigations, plan and does it require minor or a major surgery. Today me & Mr Phillip had seen at least 28 patient, excluding those who have been admitted in the wards, i don't know how much patient did i diagnosis and treat thought out my stay in the Orthopedic department. Miss count ku sudah bah.. kepisan eh.

Here also, i would like to share a story of one patient of our (both me & Mr.Phillip). He had a broken bone on his right arm, with a single bone fracture that's been totally heal a week ago and we had removed his P.O.P since his X-ray had shown that the bone is totally heal. But this boy, right after we removed his P.O.P in the morning. That afternoon, he went to play football with his friends and broke his right arm again. So stupid eh kanak-kanak masa ani. His parents took him back to the hospital to check on him and again we're as his Medical officers, had found out that this time not only he broke one of the bones, he broke both of his right arm bones that require a minor surgery to straighten the bones back. The surgery is a success but due to this boy activeness, instead of the bone getting straight, it went the opposite way, the bone that we joint back is bend and needed to be straighten back again if he want to have his normal hand back. If is his okey with the flaws that he have now, we won't operate, but that is all up to him. But i must say, once me and Dr.Phillip explained what happened to his hand and what we needed to do for his own sake and quality of life, he cried like a baby.. poor boy but his the one who created the mess, deal with your own stupidity boy. You're stupidity and ignorance is what made you this way, you might to rethink your action the next time when you decide to do something stupid and irresponsible. We arranged the surgery for him this Monday, it is up to him to come tomorrow for an admission in Ward 8 or not.

The moral of the story is? You think about it guys..

All i'm trying to say to you people out there is, when your medical officer told you not to this and that, just follow the advise cause they are doing their best on making you guys (the patient) to get well soon and don't have to come to the hospital often for a review. Tahan biskita kan sakit kan? Padar kali ah patah tulang ani ah.. kan merasa? I don't think so you're going to like it.

This Monday morning, i will be continuing my internship in Cardiology Clinic, finally something that i'm good at. I'am really looking forward on what's going on in Cardiology Clinic. Tomorrow, i'am going to a Limbang for a wedding, pictures and details will be post tomorrow.

With Love: Amirul
