The Cook served up a good mix of songs but he couldn't out-sing The Diva who swept the floor and blew him away. That's how the finale of American Idol came across to me. Vocally, Archuleta was technically polished and flawless. Lovely, lovely tone. Cook, on the other hand, was blazing hot in delivering emotionally charged performances. Lovely, lovely feel. Both were triumphant.
For the first time ever in Idol history, both finalists are already bona fide stars in their own right. At this point in the competition, it really doesn't matter who wins the title. Both will go on to make records that will sell millions. Both have legions of fans.It's really a matter of which fan club votes more.
If there are fence-sitters, they'll be swayed by what the judges had to say. And Simon Cowell gave the night lock, stock and barrel to The Diva. That more or less sealed the deal.So, who do YOU think will be the next American Idol?
